Twitter For MLM Marketing

There are numerous social sites that can be utilized by online marketers.  One of the more popular sites is Twitter.  If you are not familiar with it, Twitter is a social networking hub that enables users to send and read other users’ messages, which are known as “tweets”.  You may have heard of the numerous celebrities, athletes and politicians who use the platform to issue quick announcements or updates.

Tweets are simply text-based posts up to a total of 140 characters.  The service has also been labeled as combination of micro-blogging (due to the brevity of the allowable text) and instant messaging.  Think of Twitter as a way to make a quick post and then send it out immediately to a desired group of friends/family/associates.  It’s a great way to keep people informed on what’s up with you, without spending a whole lot of time and brainpower crafting an entire blog post on the topic.

Tweets are publicly displayed on the author’s profile page, though senders can restrict their message delivery to only their friends list.  Users may also subscribe to other users tweets, a practice known as “following”.  Like Facebook and other social media sites, Twitter is about building good relationships with the other users. When done properly, Twitter can be a potent marketing tool – one that has been embraced by affiliate marketers, bloggers and network marketers.

Consider having a separate business account from your personal one, as you may not want to mix business interests with personal musings.  Then you focus on getting as many “followers” as possible.  To do so, you must first start following other “Twitterers” by subscribing to their tweets.  Select people who are related to your MLM business or products.  If you are selling a wellness product, then look for people who have expressed an interest in health.

It is generally believed that a percentage of the people you follow will reciprocate and follow you back.  I have seen numbers ranging from between 20% to 50%.   IF you are regularly tweeting posts that add value (not blatant sales pitches), you will build relationships.

You should also try do a minimum number of direct replies (DM) daily.  Make them topical, conversational and friendly, or you might be labeled as Twitter “spammer” and removed from the list.  And don’t forget that you can reply to other people’s tweets, too, answering their questions or commenting on their ideas.

BTW, be sure to add ME to your “follow” list.

If you resonate with this and have some ideas or encouraging words to share, I’d love to hear from you down below. And if you think the people over on Twitter would benefit, a ReTweet is always appreciated too, and if you think your Facebook following would benefit from these words feel free to share them with your friends.

Wishing you prosperity and joy,

Scott

One Response to “Twitter For MLM Marketing”

  1. Hi Scott,
I admire all the Twitter users out there who have mastered this Social Media platform. Of all the platforms, it is the one I know the least about in terms of building a huge following of quality people, as well as following quality people. Your post reminds me of how powerful this tool can be for any of us building a Network Marketing business online.
Thanks for the reminder, and I will be sure to follow you if I am not already! :)
