Social Media For MLM
Just like other previous game-changing technologies, such as e-mail, blogs and online video – social media is the next big wave to rock the internet and open up brave new marketing possibilities. Everyone from Fortune 500 giants, to local pizza places, to online entrepreneurs are adopting and embracing the social media phenomenon.
And don’t worry, there is still plenty of time to hop onboard, just as businesses of all sizes and shapes are doing. The truth is, even if you are an experienced veteran of Network Marketing who is “old school” to the core, you need step outside that “three foot” boundary for just a minute and open your eyes to this dynamic new medium. Think YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, to name just a few.
If you aren’t familiar with those, then you are missing out on what could potentially be the greatest marketing venue since the television was introduced. Imagine being able to target and find recruits from hundreds of millions of people – in all walks of life, from all over the globe… all from the convenience of your home office.
Is social media really that big? Well, here are a few stats directly pulled from the 2010 Social Media Marketing Report (Michael A. Stelzner www.SocialMediaExaminer.com):
- A significant 65% of marketers surveyed have only been involved with social media marketing for a few months or less.
- The majority of marketers (56%) are using social media for 6 hours or more each week, and nearly one in three invest 11 or more hours weekly.
- The number-one advantage of social media marketing (by a long shot) is generating exposure for the business, indicated by 85% of all marketers, followed by increasing traffic (63%) and building new business partnerships (56%).
- Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and blogs were the top four social media tools used by marketers, in order.
- More than 53% of people who’ve only invested a few months with social media marketing report new partnerships were gained.
- In 2009, only 23% of marketers were using social media for years. Now that number has grown to 31%.
- More than half of marketers indicated a rise in search engine rankings was a benefit of social media marketing.
- A significant 85% of all marketers indicated that their social media efforts have generated exposure for their businesses.
So, as you can see, the benefits of using social media are significant and only getting more so. Catch the wave.
