Is Your Blog Traffic Deficient?

Jul 20th, 20101 Comment

Blog traffic is they key to your success with a profitable blog.  A lonely blog is a sad blog indeed.  But more importantly, it is also a non-producing one.  Meaning that little or no blog traffic, directly correlates to few people viewing your blog posts, only a smattering of newsletter signups, a dearth of Tweets, no Facebook love, affiliate offers left unclicked and a distinct absence of potential new recruits for your primary Network Marketing opportunity.  This, we can all agree, is not an ideal situation.

Like all internet activities, web traffic is the driving force of all monetization efforts.  Whether the goal is Adsense clicks, CPA offers, product sales via affiliate banners and links, opt-ins to build your mailing list or enticing high quality prospects to contact you about your MLM business… it all comes down to getting visitors to your blog.

While there are many varied ways to get people to head your way, here are three common ones that you can implement now for some serious blog traffic.

  1. Blog SEO – Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be a complex subject, so I won’t get into a lot of details here.  But for starters, you must have a WordPress blog, hosted on your own domain.  And even though WordPress blogs are inherently search engine friendly, you should also be using the All in One SEO Pack plug-in to optimize your URLs, Titles and Metatags.
  2. Article Marketing – This is a time-tested method for generating traffic to your blog.  Simply write articles that relate to your blog and then submit them to a few of the top article directories, such as Ezine Articles, Go Articles and Article Dashboard.  Articles should be beneficial to your target audience and also target keywords specific to your niche.  Make sure to have a compelling title and a strong call to action in your resource box.
  3. Forum Marketing – While some marketers have shifted away from forums, in lieu of some of the more popular Social Media sites, forums can still draw quality visitors to your blog.  Many forums are very niche specific and can have tens of thousands of passionate members.  Be sure to add valuable content, whether you are responding to an existing post or starting a new thread.  Forums are a great way to establish yourself as an ‘expert’ and some threads can garner thousands of views.  Remember though, forums are a community of like-minded users and blatant advertising is seriously frowned upon.

Three actionable, no cost steps that can begin bringing in qualified visitors.

If you resonate with this and have some ideas or encouraging words to share, I’d love to hear from you down below. And if you think the people over on Twitter would benefit, a ReTweet is always appreciated too, and if you think your Facebook following would benefit from these words feel free to share them with your friends.

Wishing you prosperity and joy,

Scott
