Are We There Yet?
Hey guys and gals,
It is a beautiful Spring day here in Atlanta, Georgia. Today I wanted to share with you some insight I took away from an amazing movie my
family and I watched over the weekend.
Take just a second before you watch the movie and think back to taking trips as a kid. Do remember pestering your parents with the famous phrase… “Are we there yet?” I don’t know about you, but I could ask that phrase at least every five minutes until we reached our destination.
I am sure I missed many amazing things along the way.
If you resonate with this and have some ideas or encouraging words to share, I’d love to hear from you down below. And if you think the people over on Twitter would benefit, a ReTweet is always appreciated too, and if you think your Facebook following would benefit from these words feel free to share them with your friends. Wishing you prosperity and joy, Scott

Wow! Scott, you really pulled me up short with this one! Thank you. I have been stressing over getting my blog done and my syndicating done and now I will simply enjoy the journey.
You made a difference for me, as usual!
Thanks,
Sandy

What a great message in this video, Scott. You are right on ~ it is all about the journey. The journey is what makes the prize at the end so rewarding!
Also so true that what we feed our mind manifests in our life ~ I will definitely have to check out the Peaceful Warrior. Thanks!

Love it! You are sharing great value with us. Thanks so much for sharing this “stop and see” point!

@Val Wilcox,
I loved this movie, I hope many of my readers will take some time to watch it. There are many more powerful lessons in the movie.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the great video reminder! It is about the journey, not just the destination. And I know from personal experience that if the journey is not enjoyed, then even when I reach the final destination, it still feels like it was not worth it because the journey wasn’t enjoyed – it feels like a loss instead of a fulfilled goal.
A very powerful reminder and strongly resonates with me because when I was unaware of it, I witnessed how reaching the destination felt.
Gratefully,
Venus

@Venus
,
Getting to your goal is awesome and will bring you good feelings, but they will be so much more fulfilled if you have also enjoyed the journey.
Scott
You are so right, Scott. If we don’t enjoy the journey we’re missing the whole point. Loved your video. It is easy to listen to you, your voice is mellow and your content is meaningful. Thank you for this post.

Hi Scott,
Some of my favorite memories from being a kid involve road trips with my parents and brother. Every summer we’d pack up the van and the trailer my dad built and leave our home on Long Island for our summer place in Maine, where we lived in a tent and used an outhouse until Labor Day. The drive was long, but filled with funny stories and music and the occasional “Are we there yet?” I don’t think you can be a kid and NOT utter those words when going somewhere!
Your video is a terrific reminder to everyone that the journey and all the little things that happen along the way is perhaps more important than the destination. As a parent, I for one am enjoying my journey with my kids since they will be headed off on their own journeys before I know it.
Thanks for this!

@Mary Lou Kayser,
Hey MaryLou,
Great point on the kids. I am trying to enjoy every single step of there lives. It goes by so very fast.

It’s true, Scott, that the destination is not the only reason we travel. The journey is certainly a treasury of learning and experience.
On the other hand, we can become so immersed in the journey that we not only don’t reach our destination, but don’t even remember what it is.
I think, in the final analysis, both the journey and the destination are essential… otherwise we’d just stay home. But we need to see the merits of both, and not undermine either one.
Thanks for that wonderful video, too, Scott!

@David Merrill,
I like you thoughts. It is important to keep an eye on the final goal and to attain it. Just don’t get so focused on it that there is no joy in the process of achieving it.
Scott
Scott, really enjoyed the video, great reminder to take time to enjoy the journey…

@Kaye Flack,
Hey Kaye,
Great to hear from you. I am digging the idea of doing more videos. Have a great day.
Scott
Hi Scott, Great video! Really drives home an important point. Taking the time to enjoy the journey is something that is easy to lose sight of when trying to reach a goal. Thanks for this great reminder… and I will have to watch that movie!

@Kara Grabenhorst,
Hey Kara,
Great to connect with you on my blog. Hope all is well with you. The movie is such a great set of lessons while being entertained.
All the best,

Scott,
I loved the Peaceful Warrior. Awhile back Jennifer Hart did a post on it and from that we went out and rented it. It’s full of great messages.
It seems for many today that we live in a microwave society. We want the results NOW and if we don’t get them we move on to something else. Anything worth going after is going to present many hurdles but your point to enjoy the journey, to take time and see what’s around you is right on. One of the best things about the journey is meeting all the people along the way.
